Science and Mathematics Center, Room 315

BS, Gettysburg College
PhD, Boston University

Ken Adams joined the Department of Biological Sciences at 51³ÉÈË in 2013. He teaches General Biology I, Cell Biology, Cell Signaling, and Molecular Basis of Neurodegeneration. Dr. Adams’ research interests lie in the molecular mechanisms that regulate cell behavior and misbehavior in disease. Current projects are focused on: (1) examining molecular mechanisms through which apolipoprotein E affects Alzheimer Disease pathology and (2) investigating the molecular mechanisms that regulate the activities of Egr transcription factors and their coregulators NAB1 and 2. These projects are pursued using mammalian cell culture as a model system alongside a variety of cellular, molecular, and biochemistry techniques. In addition to his teaching and research, Dr. Adams is Director of Undergraduate Research within the Center for Transformative Learning.
